Over 2,500 People Attended First Day of Dairy Forum

The 5th International Agro-Industrial Dairy Forum opened the d0oors to delegates, government officials, experts, exhibitors and visitors in the Government House of the Moscow region.

The anniversary Dairy Forum was opened by Andrey Vorobiev, the Governor of the Moscow Region. "We have established this Forum to draw attention to the industry as well as to give a new impetus to the development of agriculture. 5 years ago, many lands in the Moscow Region did not work, so the programme on their introduction was adopted. That was an opportunity to grow food and produce milk in a new way", Andrey Vorobiev said. "We think through the issues and give answers to questions that we get from the professional community. They are about subsidies, concessional lending, and opportunities to further supply their products to retail chains."

More than two and a half thousand visitors took part in the first day of the Dairy Forum from 54 regions, about 30 different countries are represented at the Forum.

The main event of the first day was the plenary session dedicated to the topic: "Dairy Industry: New Rules of the Game. Exports and Processing". The key speakers were Oksana Lut, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Sergey Dankvert, Head of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, Denis Butsaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow Region, Dmitry Matveev, President of the Cabos Group, Stefan Dürr, President of the EkoNiva Group, Jean-Paul Torris, CEO of the Savencia Fromage & Dairy Company, Philippe Meunier, Vice President of the French Regional Council Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.

During her speech at the plenary session, Oksana Lut, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, noted: "Not only agricultural enterprises are important for us, but also farmers. Within the new Federal Project "Support of Farming and Cooperatives", we plan to develop certain measures to support both farmers and cooperatives that are engaged in dairy production and further processing".

Following the results of the plenary session, Sergey Dankvert, Head of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance noted the constructive measures to attract investments in the dairy industry of the Moscow Region.

"I believe what the Moscow Region government is doing now, attracting investments, is absolutely the right step," Sergey Dankvert said. "These investments will make it possible to make products a bit cheaper. But these products should be fresh and delivered fast." Denis Butsaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow Region, stressed the importance of consistent activities aimed at creating the necessary conditions for effective development of the dairy industry. "Our goal today is to attract investors for the qualitative rebirth of the processing cluster. We believe that the commodity problem in the Moscow Region will be solved by 2021", Denis Butsaev. "It is necessary to reach completely different indicators of quality and quantity for the types of products produced. Going into deep milk processing of milk is a global trend."

"Cheese production is an additional demand for milk. A small pleasant detail that motivates us and makes us move forward, in case all our plans are implemented. We can claim leadership in the production of cheese in the country", Andrey Razin, Minister of Agriculture and Food, stated. According to him, those willing to become residents of the cheese cluster in the Moscow Region are more than enough and there can be even some shortage in the cluster area. The Minister said that the first production is planned to be launched in the Dmitrov District by the end of next year.

The most numerous delegation of the Dairy Forum was the one from France. Representatives of the government of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region, as well as potential investors which are manufacturers of equipment for cheese-making companies, came to Krasnogorsk. During the forum, Memorandum of Intent to develop trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the Governments of the Moscow Region and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region was signed.

"We were very interested in discovering the dairy industry in Russia," said Jean-Paul Torris, CEO of the Savencia Fromage & Dairy Company. "Here we got all kinds of support measures and found those who are ready to support not on paper but in real life". Stefan Dürr, President of the EkoNiva Group, drew attention to the favorable conditions for business development in the Moscow Region. Within the main issues to discuss at the Forum were new terms for dairy business, including issues of regulation, milk consumption and export potential of Russian producers. Special attention is paid to discussing prospects and problems of development of the dairy industry as well as to the presentation of investment projects in the Moscow Region.

On the first day of the 5th International Agro-Industrial Dairy Forum, there were 14 investment agreements aimed at attracting additional funds for the development of the dairy industry in the Moscow Region signed. The total investment estimated is around 7 billion rubles. It is planned to implement projects for the construction of livestock, goat, dairy farms, providing agricultural equipment and machinery as well as the production of dairy products and cheese, milk processing, the creation of modular dairies in the territory of the region. The Forum also included an exhibition of samples of finished products and technologies for the production of milk and dairy products of such companies as Agricultural Holding "OSP agro", Mustang Feeding Technologies, Group of Companies "ROTA AGRO", and DeLaval. Such companies as Dmitrov Dairy Plant JSC, Leyli Rus LLC, Yasnogor Farms LLC, Ecofarming LLC, Cheburashkin Brothers LLC, RusMoloko LLC, IP K(F)Kh Roygas Valery Vadimovich, Mishnevo Farm LLC, Saprtak Organic Farm LLC, and Plemkhoz "Naro-Osanovskoe" JSC demonstrated their own developments and products.
